Note:
(1) This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of
the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the saved game file
in the game directory. The line "You wouldn't be thinking of cheating
would you?" should appear at the bottom of the correct file. Edit the
level and stage values as desired, then save the file.
(2) Using a plain text editor you can edit your saved games. Just open
your save game file in the editor and you can adjust your campaign mission
and kills: EX: 0 6 24 240.023456 You wouldn't be thinking of cheating????
The 0 means training, the 6 means mission 6 in training, the 24 is the
number of kills, and the 240 is you points, and I don't know what the
decimal means. The phrase 'You wouldn't be thinking of cheating????' is
just there I'm not sure if it means anything.

Turbo Boost
If you hold down the flare button for at least 15 seconds, you fly much
faster.
WARNING: It's hard to control yourself at this speed.
Hints:
Don't forget about your wingmen. Don't constantly charge into battle ahead
of them, or hang back and let them fight alone. The best way to get an
enemy fighter off your tail is to have your wingman take it out. You will
also find that enemies focused on nailing another allied pilot are easy
pickings.
When you're escorting bombers try to stay close, until an enemy appears.
When the bad guys make a showing, don't be afraid to stick it to them.
Engaging as far away from the bomber flight as possible is usually the
best strategy.
Always remember the goals of your mission. You won't win just by racking
up a record number of kills. Success is based on the accomplishment of
mission goals (but lots of kills certainly won't hurt).
If your plane is damaged and you can't shake a hostile fighter, try
heading for a friendly ship. If you can make it close enough, that enemy
fighter's in for an unpleasant surprise.
Don't fire heatseekers when your allies are in front of you. Unless, of
course, you're really sick of listening to them. |
