Cheat mode:
Find the "seadogs.c" file in the "/program" folder and
copy it to the "gamedir/program" folder. Find the "init_pc.c"
file in the "/program/controls" folder and copy it to
the "/gamedir/program/controls" folder. Begin game play,
then press one of the following keys to activate the
corresponding cheat function.
Effect - Key

following line at the end of the file:

Change the number to the desired speed factor, e.g.
''6.0'' and save the file. In game press the time-scale

Treasure Hunt
Here is another way to add your money. If you board a
ship and do the personal combat with enemy, once you
have clear each side of the ship, search around for any
chest or barrel where you can find treasure (such as
ring, jewelry or other valuable) or some potion which is
very useful to heal your wound. If you seach carefully,
you will found precious item on EACH floor.
Atios Votary (additional guide) : Protect your Comrades
After you got the treasure from the wracked ship
mentioned by Atios Votary in Douwsen shore, you have to
re-enter the cavern and you will notice that the
skeleton soldier will "re-birth" and attack you. At this
point, you better fight alone since the cavern entrance
from the shore is much wider than the first entrance
next to waterfall. If you re-enter the cavern with your
comrades, they will rush in first before you and soon
will get killed before you able to protect them. If you
want to keep your valuable officers alive, before
re-entering the cavern from the shore, next to the
waterfall, press F2 and remove your comrades from
passanger screen. If you are alone, you may fight the
skeleton one-by-one. If you have some healing potion,
make sure to heal yourself during combat by pressing
[space bar] and choose "Use Item".
Easy Money : Another Guide
You can have easy money by accepting any job either from
Tavern - by guiding and protect merchant ship to their
destination point - or at the Shop - by delivering goods
to other store in the other island. Usually, store offer
more money than merchant (12.000 to more than 45.000)
and the task is easier than protecting merchant ship
which hardly to be controlled during battle scene.
How to get Battle Ship
You may find it desperate to fight enemy battle ship
with your inferior ship since they may sink you just in
one encounter with their massive canoon. But you may use
tricky way to take-over enemy battle ship without being
attacked. But before that, make sure you have less than
4 ship or you won't be able to acquire the battle ship
unless you want to swap them with yours.
On the map scene, try to find 2 ship in battle. Notice
the color, both ship should be color whit (with strip).
If one of the ship colored black, it would be pirates
ship and it is very seldom to ind pirates who use battle
ship. Once you get close to both white ship which in
battle, press [space bar] and you will enter the battle
scene. Press [Enter] and give command to all your other
ships to sail away while your ship alone try to get
close to french battle ship. If you difficult to know
which ship is the battle ship, press [Ctrl] to any ship
to see with your telescope. Then press [Enter] and sail
close to them. DO NOT attack them unless you get close
enough to board the ship. Soon after you fire the battle
ship sail next to you, you may board it instantly and
you will enter personal combat scene. Defeat all the
enemy officer and congratulation .... you now have your
own battle ship.
But don't get too excited. You have to defeat all the
other enemy ship which is now try to attack your or you
may sail away from the other enemy ship as far as you
can. I suggest you swap the ship (which is now you sail
with the battle ship). Make sure you add your crew
member so it can function properly and give order to
your previous ship to sail away. Then try to attack
other enemy ships with your new battle ship. You would
find it much easier to sink them.

Easy money - Go to any of the loan sharks and ask for
any amount of money. You can go to the box in his office
and drop your money in it. Then, go up to him again and
ask for more money. Continue to do this until you have
the desired amount. Even though he says that he has ways
of getting his money back, he never comes after you
Infinite Money [Commerce Skill 7] - Keep going in and
out of any tavern until there is a viable officer
candidate waiting to be hired. Tell them you don't think
they are worth what they are asking, they will lower
their price, then say they are still not worth their
fee. Keep repeating this and eventually it will turn
into a negative sum. This in turn will your increase
your gold.
Stack captain scores - You can add more than one person,
other than the Captain, onto your other three ships. All
of their scores will stack with that ship's captain's
score. There are two different ways to do this. The
first method is at the Open Sea screen (where you can
see all of your ships), get close to another one of your
ships and a swap cargo icon will appear. Go into the
swap cargo menu. There is an option to switch captains.
Under this option, there is a screen that has four
slots. One of them is the captain of that ship. Click on
one of the other three slots, then assign passengers to
each one. When you do this, they disappear from your
passenger list. You will need to get more party members
at the tavern if you want to fill up all your ships. Do
not sell the ship with the other three crewmembers still
on it. You will lose anyone that is still on board. The
second method is to capture a ship and do it when you
assign a captain to the captured ship.
Easy Ship Takeovers - Since you are at war with France,
you are going to attack some French ships. But not any
French ships, only those that are battling pirate ships,
because any other time when you encounter French ships
they attack you. But this time they will be your allies,
against the pirates, so find a battle where you are
totally out numbered by the pirates and quickly defeat
them. Now after the battle the French ships will not
attack you, they will sail on their way. Get in close to
those French ships and fire your kibles at their sails,
do it to each ship, but do not fire anything else or the
ships will instantly attack you. Now with their sails
destroyed they cannot manuver very well, when you begin
your attack, you can pick them off or flee if you must.
Next select the ship you want to take over, get in real
close and fire the grape shot at point blank rage. You
will kill off some of the crew, and will instantly board
their ship for a take over. Now when you have your new
ship the other French ships "if there are anymore" will
attack you. But since you took out the sails, the battle
will be easy, so sink them or run away to repair. You
can do this with other nations, but once you do this you
will be at war with them, which just adds to your
problems early in the game.

Cannon cheat - Go into your potc file and look in resource
file then ini file and click on cannons. You can change you cannon
properties here.
Change anything! - In order to get as much money as you want,
fly a flag for a different country, get a free ship or anything else you
want, you must go to your pirates of the caribbean character folder. The
default location for this folder is C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Pirates
of the Caribbean\PROGRAM\Characters Now, go to the file characters_init.
Now have fun changing anything you want. Always make a backup of the file
first though!

Customize Nathaiel Hawk - After Stats are changed must start a
new game. Also backup folder. Characters Skill points can't go over 10 or
game won't start.
1)open POC game folder. Which would be found under Bethesda Softworks.
2)After POC folder is open. Open the folder named Program.
3)Next open the folder named Characters.
4)After that open the file Named characters_init.
5)Once that open scroll down until you see

Quickly Increase or Decrease Reputation - To
quickly increase you reputation, go to any church and offer a donation.
But you MUST offer 5000 gold in order for this to work. After you offer
the donation, and you are finished talking to the priest, your reputation
will go up one level. Now to decrease your reputation, go to the tavern
and ask the tavern keeper if he has any jobs for you, he will tell you
that someone asked for an escort. Offer to escort him to where ever he
needs to go. Now, before you get to where ever you are going, go to the
sea interface and fire on the ship that you are escorting. Once you sink
it, you reputation will decrease
Muggers Are Scared Of You - If you have been having a problem
with the muggers in the forests killing you, or taking you money. All you
have to do is decrease your reputation to "Horror of the High Seas". Do
this by either working for Santos as an assassin, or sinking a vessel you
are escorting. Once your reputation is "Horror of the High Seas", the
muggers will still come up to you, but tell them that you will not
surrender your gold. And then they will run away. Now if you want to still
fight them, attack them while they are running away.
Hidden Photos - When you enter the Inca Maze you can see in
the first part of the Maze writings on the floor. It's a sun sign and a
skull sign. Follow the sun signs until you get in a room with the a sun
sign pointing at a wall. Walk through this wall and you will enter a large
room. This room is filled with photos of creators of the games with the
names beneath it.
Final Battle - message: After you have taken the Magical Ball
at the Incan fort you will face the Black Pearl. Rember to activate your
ability while doing battle with the Black Pearl to do extensive damage the
ship. This will enable you to defeat the Ghost Ship.
Fast money (hint) - To get quick money First look at your
trade book and find a island that has a certain item as a contraband and
smuggle that item in by talking to the smuggler in the tavern and tell him
u have some items to sell. (hint its easier if u buy the contraband item
for an island exporting it to get it cheaper). now go to the place where
the smuggler tells u to and sell it to him. now the way to get the money
is u WANT to get caught. The guards will come up and talk to u. no matter
what u say they will end up fighting u so tell him whatever then RUN! get
back to your ship. now when u go to the ship in the bay there will be 2 or
3 ships waiting for u from that country. now these ships are always
frigate which if captured will haul u in about 90,000 piece. there easy to
capture because all the ships are badly unscrewed the most I have seen one
have was 40 guys on the ship. So I take the ships and sell them. (the boat
i used for this was a schooner)
Hire an officer for nothing - If you have 3 or more leadership
this could work for you. At the tavern where the officers are at. talk to
one and say how much are you asking for. then say isn't that too much for
you. he will agree and lower down his price.but if he doesn't don't worry
keep trying. Also you could them give you money.
Easy Experience - To get some easy experience points simply do
the following. First, when you level up, make sure you make STORM
NAVIGATOR (or something like that) one of the abilities you pick, as this
will reduce storm damage by 40% Then go find a storm. When you enter the
storm lower your sails so they take less damage. The longer you stay in
the storm, the more experience points you get. Also, if you make
EXPERIENCE SHARE one of your abilities, then all of your officers will get
experience points as well.
Run Away Tip - If you run into a group of baddies you think
you cannot beat then run away and go past the last point where the game
loads and they won't follow you.
Incas temple guide through maze - If you plan to go to the
Incan temple go to the maze after Clement and Danielle talk to you, go
through the hall defeat the pirate skeletons go to the left from where you
came from look at the symbols on the floor follow the thing that looks
like a square sun(not the skulls)and it should lead you to this place
where 2 skeletons are defeat them and go to the square in the center of
the room put the idol there and a door will open go through the door and
you will be in the alcove the rest is easy you'll figure it out.
Fast money - To get fast money at Oxbay go to loanshark's
house go to the tavern and then come out and walk to the tree in front
turn right and walk forward to the house go in and talk to the man and
when he ask's how much you want there will be three to pick from pick the
more the better the man will give you 3000 gold and there is a box that
you can put stuff in it just put the money in it and keep taking his money
but when the French take over the man will give you more 12000 gold.
Easy Money: take two - While ferrying goods between islands is
a good way to make a profit, there is another. It depends on your Commerce
skill. When hiring an officer, simply talk to him and say that he's
charging too much. No matter what he does (lowers his price or says he's
worth it) refuse and once again tell him he's charging too much.
Persistence pays off, even if it seems he won't lower any further, give it
time and he will. You can lower them into the NEGATIVE numbers, and when
you hire them they will pay YOU. I've pulled off 200,000 gold on one
officer with this trick. NOTE: Your Commerce skill comes into play when
they lower their prices, a formula would be CommerceSkill x 100 = lowering
price. So if you have a Commerce skill of 1, they will lower it by 100, 2
is 200, 3 is 300, and so forth.
Pirates of the Caribbean - You can add more than one person onto
your other 3 ships and all of their scores will stack with that ships
captains scores.
