Get more time per ped
Edit the x\data\Peds\Settings.txt file (x is the directory into which you
installed Carmageddon 2).
- Near the start of the file (in the general stuff section) you should see
a line that has three numbers followed by the text "// Points score per
ped (each level)". Edit the three numbers to three other larger numbers.
This will change the number of credits you win for killing pedestrians. In
addition, on the line below you should see three numbers followed by "//
Time score per ped (each level)". Increasing these three numbers gives you
more time per pedestrian killed.
Edit the time of a power-up
Open the file powerup.txt in the data directory, there you can easily edit
the length of power-ups.
Hints
The false start trick from carma 1 works here too. At the beginning of the
race, during the countdown, press <Z> (wheelspin <W> for azerty) and
you'll have a false start with a 1000 credit fine.
You can use <Enter> to open your card doors, but be sure to close them
again because they'll fly open in the corners.
When you aren't able to waste a big opponent (later in the game), search
for a kangaroo-on-command power-up. Drive to a wall and hold still. Wait
until the big guy drives at full speed to you and use the
kangaroo-on-command. He'll be wasted.
Make sure you have & kangaroo-on-command. Search for a suicidal peds
power-up. Stand still. All peds will run into your car, but they won't
bedead. When the power-up is over, use your kangaroo-on-command powerup to
finish them all at once.
When you're lying on your side, keep <Z> (wheelspin <W> for azerty)
pressed and keep steering to one side. You will be able to continue
driving.
You can use your horn <H> to scare off peds. If you're able to get them
the river or fallig of a mountain, you get a special bonus for this. "You
let him fall as a rock !"
Cars
Some cars are extremely difficult to waste. Here are some specific hints:
Supastuka (the plane) : he isn't that strong, but difficult to hit. You
have to look for an afterburner and hit him in the front while the nose of
your car is a little up from the ground. He'll be seriously damaged.
Normal Cars : Most little cars can be destroyed by just hitting them very
hard in the front.
Big Cars : The Big Cars (Abba Cab, The Plow, ...) can't be hit in the
front. You need to drive with them and then push them as hard as you can
to a wall or use the kangaroo-on-command power-up and let them waste
themselves. The easiest way to finish them off is using the solid granite
car power-up, but in the later levels, they aren't available anymore. |
