You can get 4 different secret characters by beating slash mode 4
different ways:
1. use any character from the Shainto and beat it
without dying
2. use any character from the Nakuragami and beat it without dying
3. use any character from the Shainto and beat it in under 15 min
4. use any character from the Nakuragami and beat it in under 15 min
Unfortunately, you can't use these secret characters in
the story mode or vs cpu mode, I think you can only use them in 2 player
mode.
Complete the game with the 6 regular characters - Hundred slashes mode
Defeat all thirteen Bosses in action (Boss) mode without using
any continues. Highlight the 'Link Mode' option on the main menu and
press Down(2) to access Chanbarra mode.
Fight As Sub-Characters - Complete decisive battle
(story) mode and keep both sub-characters alive. The sub-characters may
now be used in any other game mode.
Slash Mode - Complete the Boss mode without using any
continues. If you do that a option for Slash Mode will appear on the main
menu.
Get Gun Carrying Characters - Beat the Slash mode in under 15 minutes
and you will get either Katze or gun girl depending on the house you fight
